No. 67 - Mu habitat by the architect Safdie (MosheSafdie) in 1967 by the design and construction, is also one of the main themes at the 1967 World Exposition in Montreal.
1973 was held in Hungary box building international symposium, the mid 70s has a larger development, now has more than 20 Chinese built box components of buildings of different types, including housing for more than a few public buildings and industrial buildings. Box component houses evolved from movable houses in the United States, but in most countries they evolved from prefabricated buildings. It was originally made of wood or steel, and now most of them are made of reinforced concrete box elements, some of which are made of aluminum alloy, plastic or glass fiber reinforced plastics. Reinforced concrete box members built in Romania and the Soviet Union can withstand 7~8 degrees of seismic loads safely. China started a small number of pilot projects in Qingdao, Nantong and Beijing in the past 1979~1980 years.
At present, more than 30 countries have built box component houses in the world, and there are more than 20 countries producing more box components. The use of box components also developed from low level to multi-storey and even high-rise. Some countries have been built to 15 or more than 20 storeys. Canada has a large box component complex, the Soviet Union and even appeared box component building area, and gradually extended from the city to the countryside. Since 1979, several box structural houses have been built in Qingdao, Nantong, Beijing and other places. The total building area is 1634.8 square meters. Since 1982, the new box structure residential building is about 15000 square meters. Qingdao has built a residential building with reinforced concrete cup-shaped components and has produced a reinforced concrete tunnel shaped box member. The Hotel Le Lido in Beijing is a light box component building. The first phase of the project uses more than 500 steel frames and light box members.
